would having six wings, thousands of eyes all over my body and a halo so bright it burns out the retinas of anyone who looks at it directly help me to make friends? no. would it enhance my job prospects? probably not. would it improve my quality of life significantly? that’s debatable. but it would make me very happy.

cornelius is a young immortal being, who was found by a woman(who I have not yet named) and taken. Set in a world where diseases have run rampant, there is an ever-growing need for cures. Being immortal, cornelius could not die, so the woman, in her zeal to find immortality for humans, performed countless horrible and excruciating experiments on cornelius. He is subject to an endless amount of pain and suffering, yet the woman’s motherly charm and spontaneous kindness makes cornelius grow fond of her, even though he is tortured time and time again. The woman makes him call her “mother” and he does so despite the woman’s cruelty. He is not able to make facial expressions and is only able to communicate through his ear shattering wails.
